THIS WEEK IN MUSTANG SPORTS (SEPT 8-13) • HOMECOMING is Friday, Sept 19! The Mustangs will face WRC foe Attica on Friday. The Mustangs are coming off a 40-12 victory at Covington Friday night. • Jr high volleyball defeated Southmont in both 7th & 8th grade on Thursday. The wins improve the 7th grade to 4-0, while the 8th grade is 2-2. • The JV volleyball team won a thriller against North Montgomery on Tuesday, coming back from a 1-8 deficit in the 3rd set to win 17-15 for a 2-1 victory. It was the first JV loss of the season for North Montgomery. The JV also defeated Southmont on Thursday. The varsity fell in close matches to North Montgomery and Southmont. The varsity is in action on Saturday at the Rossville Invitational. • Boys Tennis traveled to the Seeger Invitational Saturday morning, as they continue to prepare for the WRC tourney on Sept 27 at FC. The tournament was cut short because of weather, but the team travels to Seeger on Monday for a regular match vs Seeger. • Girls Golf traveled to Harrison Hills on Thursday for a match vs Southmont, Seeger, and Attica - Rya Jackson again was medalist for the match with a 48. Bella Bacon shot 55 and Lilly Gregory 64 respectively. The girls had a thrilling finish to the WRC tournament on Saturday, as Rya Jackson and Bella Bacon were both involved in a sudden death playoff to earn medals for the day. Unfortunately, they were not able to win out, but they still had a great day of golf. The girls golf SECTIONAL is already here – the Lady Mustangs will compete at Harrison Hills on Saturday, Sept. 20. Good luck ladies! • Congratulations to Fountain Central coaches and athletes – we received the IHSAA Sportsmanship Banner at the Area Principals’ Meeting at Brownsburg High School on Sept 11. Fountain Central’s Salute to Veterans Charles Forrest American Legion Auxiliary Unit #288 in cooperation with the Fountain Central Athletic Department, is hosting “A Salute to Veterans Night”, at the Fountain Central football field. The Mustangs host the Seeger Patriots that night. All current military and veterans may sign in at the main entrance and receive recognition and free admission for the night. Please join us in a community celebration of our military and veterans on: Friday, September 26, 2025 Sign in at the main entrance by 6:35pm. Recognition begins at 6:40pm.
