Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School

Mustang volleyball took on South Vermillion battling hard through three sets with the final set coming down to a close 23-25 finish. The Mustangs showed a strong offensive presence at the net led by Kendyl Nolan with 6 kills. Her offensive success was helped by setter Chloe Ayers, whose athleticism allowed her to turn difficult passes into impressive back sets and scoring opportunities. Chloe showed grit throughout the night contributing at the net, making her digs defensively, and finishing with an impressive 15 assists. Aubrey Ashwill put up 5 blocks against some great attacks. The entire team showed work ethic and resilience as they adjusted to new rotations due to an injured player and continued to battle through every point. The Mustangs look forward to bringing that same work ethic and talent to the court Tuesday as they take on the North Montgomery Chargers. The JV team started out slow but came together in the second set. Kynleigh Elkins had an impressive 5 aces and 4 kills. The team ultimately fell 25-15 in the second set.
