THIS WEEK IN MUSTANG SPORTS (FEB 23-28) • WILL ARMSTRONG! – Will continued his assault on the FC Diving record book Saturday – taking home his THIRD consecutive sectional diving championship. Will broke his own sectional record by more than 50 points and finished over 100 points ahead of 2nd place. Will’s final score Saturday was 513.60, which was good for both a sectional and school record. Will competes in the diving regional Tuesday at Brownsburg for a chance to return to the state finals for the 3rd straight year. What an amazing accomplishment, especially considering he has had to practice off campus for the last 2 seasons. GREAT JOB WILLIAM! • Overall, the boys’ swim team placed 6th out of 13 teams in the sectional on Saturday. Great job guys. • There will be a boys’ golf call-out for grades 9-12 in the library on Tuesday, Feb 24, in the library. Please stop by if you are interested in golf this spring. • The Mother/Son Theme Dance will be Friday, February 27, in the Elementary Gym. • GOOD luck to Preston Good, as he competes in the state solo and ensemble competition for the 2nd consecutive year. This year, Preston will be competing with 2 separate instruments, the flute and the piccolo. The competition is held at North Central High School in Indianapolis on Saturday, February 28. THANK YOU to all-star band director Ashley Brown for all your work with FC band students. • Saturday, Feb 28, Fountain Central Wrestling will host the inaugural Girls-Only Jr High Wrestling Invitational. It will be held in the Elementary Gym, and will start at 9am. • The 6th grade girls’ Bi-County Tourney that was originally scheduled for Feb 14, has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb 28, at Covington. • The boys’ basketball team travels to Western Boone on Tuesday for their last regular season game, as they prepare for the Sectional at Fountain Central March 3, 4, 6, & 7.
