THIS WEEK IN MUSTANG SPORTS (FEB 9-14) • Your Lady Mustang Girls Basketball Players are SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS! Saturday night, the girls won the sectional championship with a 34-11 victory over Lafayette Faith Christian. This is the 4th sectional championship in girls basketball at FC, and our first since 2015. Bella Bacon was named 1st team All-Sectional, while Henley Good and Kendyl Nolan were named 2nd team All-Sectional. The girls will face North Miami at 1pm on Saturday, at Frankfort in the Regional game. Tickets can be purchased online at IHSAA Frankfort GBB Regional Tickets. Frankfort WILL be accepting cash for tickets at the door as well. • Sectional championship t-shirts can be ordered online at https://fcgsec26.itemorder.com. Orders must be placed by 11:59 am on MONDAY. • FC’s Peyton Hocking finished 4th in Diving at the Sectional on Saturday at Crawfordsville. She will compete in the Diving Regional on Tuesday at Plainfield. Congratulations, Peyton! It was a terrific game that came down to the wire with Rossville unfortunately scoring last to secure a 52-50 win. Still, it was one of the Mustangs’ best games of the year and they are playing better and better each week as we are a month away from sectional time. FC hosts Attica on Tuesday. • Keep an eye out for possible changes to the previously-scheduled girls 6th grade Bi-County Tourney on Saturday, Feb 14.
