Fountain Central Baseball Varsity vs Covington (2 - 3) Loss Fountain Central Varsity Mustangs lost a hard-fought 3–2 game to Covington on Thursday in walk-off fashion. The game ended in the eighth inning when Zarn delivered a game-winning RBI single for Covington. Fountain Central struck first in the opening inning after Batchelor blasted a solo home run to right field. Strong pitching dominated the game, as Covington pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts while Fountain Central pitchers recorded five. Batchelor pitched well in the loss, going seven and two-thirds innings while allowing just three runs and also leading the Mustangs with two hits. Covington’s timely hitting, solid defense, and error-free play helped them secure the narrow victory.
