FC Mustangs Win on Walk off Double by Kyra Kiger Varsity vs Faith Christian (9 - 8) Win Fountain Central delivered a thrilling finish Friday night, clinching a dramatic 9–8 walk-off victory over the Faith Christian Eagles. Trailing 8–7 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Mustangs sealed the win when Kyra Kiger ripped a clutch double, bringing home two runs and igniting the celebration. Jacquelynn Weber powered the Mustangs’ offense, finishing 3-for-4 at the plate. She doubled in the fourth inning and added singles in both the first and sixth. Fountain Central jumped out early, scoring first in the opening inning as Kynleigh Elkins drove in two runs with a single. The Mustangs continued building momentum in the second inning, plating three more runs on RBI singles from Oliviah Jones and Keylee Stonebraker. Faith Christian refused to go quietly and turned the game on its head in the top of the sixth. The Eagles erupted for six runs on six hits to take an 8–7 lead, highlighted by Savannah Freeland’s two-run double. Braelynn Kiger earned the win in relief for the Mustangs, allowing two runs on four hits over two innings while striking out two without issuing a walk. Patience Bixler got the start in the circle, tossing five innings and yielding six runs (five earned) on eight hits with six strikeouts. Bella Hall took the loss for Faith Christian, striking out 10 over six and one-third innings while surrendering nine runs (five earned) on 11 hits. Fountain Central finished with 11 hits overall, with Kiger, Stonebraker, and Elkins each driving in two runs. Weber added to the excitement on the base paths, swiping two of the Mustangs’ seven stolen bases. Faith Christian tallied 12 hits, led by Julia Merkel, Hall, Keely Frier, Emmerie Gilman, and Freeland, who each recorded two hits. Gilman and Freeland paced the Eagles with two RBIs apiece. The Mustangs look to carry that momentum into Saturday’s matchup as they welcome North Vermillion.
