Fountain Central Softball With Tough Game Against Riverton Parke Fountain Central Mustangs couldn't keep up with Riverton Parke and fell 14-7 on Monday. Riverton Parke got on the board in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, Lumeye doubled, scoring two runs, and Simmons singled, scoring one run. The Mustangs tied the game up in the bottom of the first thanks to two home runs. Fountain Central tied the game at four on a home run to right field by Patience Bixler and a two run shot by Keylee Stonebraker (her first of her career.) A single by Morman gave Riverton Parke the lead, 5-4, in the top of the second. Riverton Parke extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI doubles by Simmons and Ogoletti. Riverton Parke scored three runs in the top of the sixth on a home run to center field by Morman. Kickels earned the win for Riverton Parke. The starter gave up nine hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking six. Lillian Bennett took the loss for the Mustangs. The starting pitcher went five innings, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out one and walking none. Weber, Stonebraker, and Massey each collected two hits for FC. Stonebraker, Bixler, and Elkins each drove in two runs for the Mustangs. Jones led FC. Riverton Parke tallied 15 hits in the game. Morman drove the middle of the lineup, leading Riverton Parke with four runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 4-for-5 on the day. Ogoletti, Stonebraker, Lumeye, and Simmons each collected multiple hits for Riverton Parke. Stonebraker stole three bases. Riverton Parke ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game. Riverton Parke were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ugoleth had the most chances in the field with 11. Fountain Central Varsity Mustangs will travel to Riverton Parke for their next game on Tuesday.
