Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School

Fountain Central girls basketball advances to the Sectional 53 championship with the 34-16 victory over Attica High School. The Lady Mustangs worked hard and earned many great looks at the basket. The Mustangs shots had a difficult time falling, so they relied on playing solid defense and pulling the ball in off of the glass. The Mustangs forced 16 turnovers and out rebounded their opponent 29-17. Fountain Central was led in scoring by Bella Bacon. She finished the evening with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Aubrey Ashwill follows with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Kendyl Nolan also finished with 7 points. She also earned a block, a steal, and 3 rebounds. Citrus Wesley finished the evening with 6 rebounds, 4 points, a steal, and an assist. Cadence White also finished the evening with 4 points, a steal, and 4 rebounds. Henley Good rounds out the scoring for the Mustangs with 3 points, 3 steals, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Lady Mustangs will face off against the Faith Christian Eagles in the sectional finals tomorrow at North Vermillion High School.
