Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School

The Mustangs picked up another great win as they beat Crawfordsville 45-43. Crawfordsville came out of the gates hot both on offense and defense. They were able to jump out with a lead. Once Fountain Central settled down they started to chip away at the lead before taking it over right before halftime. The Mustangs were able to take advantage of Crawfordsville's foul trouble in the second quarter winning the quarter 15-8. FC took a 23-20 lead into halftime. Crawfordsville came out in the 2nd half playing mostly zone, while the Mustangs went from mostly zone to man. Ayden Batchelor was able to get a few great stops on defense that led to easy points for FC. Laine Hester continued his great play recently with some key rebounds and loose balls in the 2nd half. With 20 seconds left in the game the Mustangs were down 1 with the ball on their baseline. Noah Dodson was able to get the ball on the block and scored while being fouled to take a 1 point lead. He then made the following free throw to bump the lead to 2 with 5 seconds left. Crawfordsville was able to get a good shot off at the buzzer, but after it bounced on the rim a few times it fell out. Eli Foxworthy had a great game tonight leading the Mustangs with 30 points. Fountain Central will travel to Faith Christian next Friday.
