The Fountain Central Mustangs pulled off a huge conference win by beating Seeger 49-46. The Mustangs came out of the gate hot as they scored 19 points in the first quarter. It was probably the best quarter of basketball the Mustangs have played all year. Seeger kept fighting back like they always do, but Fountain Central never gave up the lead. Going into halftime with a 23-13 lead the message to the team was to not relax and match the intensity of the Patriots in the 2nd half. Seeger came out in the 2nd half and went on a quick 6 point run as the Mustangs kept turning the ball over which lead to layups. For most of the rest of the 2nd half both teams went on small run and traded baskets. The Mustangs were able to make some big free throws at the end to seal the game. Seeger had one last chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but the ball rimmed out. The Mustangs saw all of their players contribute to scoring including Laine Hester with another couple of big layups, and Paul Adams with a buzzer beater in the 1st quarter. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Ayden Batchelor with 13, followed by Eli Foxworthy with 10. Fountain Central hosts Crawfordsville next Friday night.
