Fountain Central Girls Varsity Basketball wins home opener! The Lady Mustangs defeated Clinton Prairie by a score of 49-22. They started the game strong jumping to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter. The Mustangs continued to out score their opponents in every quarter. Several Mustangs had the opportunity to contribute to the team's success. Aubrey Ashwill grabbed her first double double of the season securing 11 rebounds while also scoring 11 points. Kendyl Nolan came away with a block, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 11 points. Bella Bacon had a great night as well. She accumulated 6 steals, defensive rebounds, and added 10 points to the Mustangs score. Citrus Wesley added 6 points, 3 offensive rebounds, and 2 steals. Kynleigh Elkins scored her first varsity points in tonight's win by knocking down a 3 and hitting a layup. She was also able to assist her teammates twice and pulled in 2 defensive rebounds. Henley Good earned 4 points for the Mustangs. She also had 3 steals, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds. Cassandra Wildman rounds out the scoring for the Mustangs with an additional 2 points. The Lady Mustangs will round out their week on the road as they travel to Frankfort on November 7. JV will play two quarters and tip off is at 6:00pm. Varsity will follow.
