Fountain Central Mustangs took the lead late and defeated South Newton 14-11 on Saturday. The game was tied at nine with Fountain Central Mustangs batting in the top of the fifth when Owen Acton singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. Carson Eberly collected four hits in four at bats to help lead Fountain Central Mustangs to victory. Eberly singled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh. Fountain Central Mustangs opened up scoring in the first inning, when AJ Hall grounded out, scoring one run. Hall was on the mound for Fountain Central Mustangs. The righthander surrendered five runs on three hits over two innings, striking out three. Fountain Central Mustangs racked up 14 hits on the day. Eberly, Acton, Luke Foxworthy, and C.J. Yager each had multiple hits for Fountain Central Mustangs. Eberly led Fountain Central Mustangs with four hits in four at bats. Fountain Central Mustangs tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Eberly led the way with five.
