Fountain Central saw its season come to an end with a 6-2 loss to Delphi in its opening game of the Southmont Sectional.
The Mustangs spotted the Oracles a run in the top of the first inning but battled back with two of its own on a two-run triple off the bat of freshman Chloe Golia in the bottom of the inning..
Delphi ties the game in the second and added three more runs in the fourth and added an insurance run in the fifth.
Fountain Central loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh with two outs but could not push across the winning runs.
FC had seven players get a hit in the game. Golia was the only player to have two hits. Lexi Nickle and Audi Eades each had doubles, while Marley and Maddy Massey, Alexis VanHook and Maddie Medley all had singles.
Senior Skylar Merryman took the loss despite pitching an outstanding game. She threw just 81 pitches and only 17 balls, allowed no walks and struck out two.
This was the final game for Merryman, Nickle, Emily Shaw and Savannah Franklin.
