F.A.S.T. (Fountain Aquatic Swim Team)
Who: Swim team for youth (ages 4-19 depending on ability). Children do not have to attend
any particular school district to swim with F.A.S.T. They will need to be able to swim
the length of the pool to participate. Children who are not able to swim the length of
the pool yet would benefit from participating in the Little Colts program April 12-16.
What: Kids learn to swim the four strokes (breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle)
in a fun, safe and supportive team atmosphere.
Parents/caregivers are welcome to stay and watch the practices from the bleachers –
dependent upon current Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the State, the County, Fountain Central School District or FAST Board.
Cost: $30 for each child.
$20 to participate in Little Colts Learn to Swim week.
When: April 29 – June 26
Practices in April, May & June are Monday – Friday. Practice times will be in the late
afternoon/evening. Exact days and times to be determined and announced soon.
In normal years, swim meets begin in June and are on Wednesday evenings and
Saturday mornings. Practice continues on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in June. Due to Covid-19, the meet schedule is not yet known while we wait on other schools to determine whether they will/can have a team. More information about meets will be released when available.
Where: Practice and home meets are at the Fountain Central Pool. Away swim meets will be
announced at a later time.
Why: Swimming is fun! F.A.S.T. is a blast! Every child should have the opportunity to be a
strong swimmer and F.A.S.T. helps them do just that.

To be eligible to swim with F.A.S.T., the child should be able to swim the length of the pool using any stroke or combination of strokes (i.e. dog paddling and floating on back while kicking is fine, but flotation devices are not). Little Colts is designed to help swimmers who aren’t quite able to do so yet be able to make it by the end of the week or help those who are young and unsure gain confidence in the pool. Participation in Little Colts Learn to Swim Program is not a guarantee that your child will be able to swim in the regular FAST season. Final decision rests with the Coach.
Little Colts is not for children who have already swam with F.A.S.T.
